SWAHILI CHOIR FESTIVAL 2026

Festival Dates; 24th June – 2nd July 2026

We welcome you to the 2026 Edition of the “Swahili Choir Festival” scheduled to take place in Kenya during the dates 24.6.2026 – 2.7.2026. This Festival brings together Choirs, individual singers and choir conductors from different countries across Europe, USA and Asia; all congregating in Kenya to learn new Cultures and different genres of music. During this Festival, we aim to have visiting choirs to all learn different Swahili songs which gets to be sang during the final gala concert. We also identify different choir conductors visiting with their choirs to teach one song from their culture/language/tradition. This means each visiting choir and director, gets to teach one song from different cultures and genres and also gets to learn 1 song from different cultures. This Festival is open to different choirs specializing in different genres including classic music, barbershop music, acapella music, cultural music among many others genres. The Festival is open to both singers and non – singers.

Why you should bring your choir/Singers at the Swahili Choir Festival;
New Experience; as a singer or choir director, you get to learn new music ideas, explore different cultures through music, get exposed and learn African Swahili music while also teaching to the mass choir your cultural song.
Multi-cultural mass choir rehearsals and concert; Swahili choir Festival provides a platform where singers from different cultures learn Swahili music and different other songs from the cultures represented and staging a mass choir concert by singing the multi-cultural songs.
Showcase your culture through song; As a choir, group or individual, you have a chance to showcase your culture and genre of music by teaching a song to the mass choir and staging your choir concert.
Inclusive of the Safari experience; We are the only music organization that fuses our Festivals with Safari, game drive and exploring the African big five. By attending our Festival, you get to experience exciting Safari at the famous Maasai Mara National Park, Nairobi National Park and Lake Nakuru.
Open for everyone; Our Festival is open to everyone, therefore; both singers and non-singers can participate. These could be friends, families or children. Separate itinerary is generated for the non-singers.


Festival Package Cost;
Singers; 1950€
Kids under 10 years: 1,750€
Non-singers: 2,300€ (Will have a different customized itinerary).
Non-singing kids under 10 years; 2,000€

·         Arrivals

·         Arrivals, airport transfers and drop off to the hotel.

·         Orientation

·         Workshops on Swahili music

·         First Safari day

·         Morning orientation after breakfast.

·         Mass choir workshops and learning Swahili folk music, dance and songs by African choir leaders.

·         Safari at the famous Nairobi National Park; situated right at the heart of Nairobi City.

·         Leave for Nakuru

·         Individual choir concerts

·         Driving to Nakuru City

·         Rehearsals and preparation for individual choir concerts.

·         Individual choir concerts by different choirs and their different styles and genres of music in Nakuru from 7pm.

27.6

·         Multi-cultural rehearsals

·         African concert

·         This whole day will be a day for rehearsing and mass choir singing. The sessions will be led by different choirs and choir conductors. At the end of this day, participants need to have learnt different styles of music and songs from all the cultures represented.

·         Evening African concert by the local choirs.

·         Mass choir gala concert

·         On this final musical day, we’ll have a final mass choir gala concert. The songs to be sang during this concert shall be all the songs rehearsed during the Festival that were led by choir conductors from different cultures and countries singing different genres of music.

·         Rift valley adventure day

·         Driving to Narok town

·         Rift Valley adventure day; A visit to Menengai crater, largest caldera in Africa with a significant history in Kenya.

·         Driving to Narok Town; a town nearby Maasai Mara National Reserve in preparation for the Safari day.

·         Safari day

·         The long awaited Safari day at the Famous MAASAI Mara National Reserve. A whole day Safari drive with a chance to see the big five and nearly all the wild animals.

·         Trip to the Maasai Village

·         Drive to Nairobi.

·         Maasai culture is one of the most ancient and preserved cultures in the history of Kenya. Get a chance to interact with them, visit their villages to explore their way of life, culture, family, food etc.

·         Drive to Nairobi after that.

·         Departure

·         Flight back home from Nairobi.
